Spring Cards with the Bold Daisy Stencil

Spring Cards with the Bold Daisy Stencil

Hello! Today I'm sharing a pair of cards that I made with two of my favorite things - spring colors and a beautiful floral stencil. Have you seen the new [hero_product_link sku="SA068" text="Bold Daisy Stencil"] yet? I've used it with two, beautiful trios of ink colors, to create bold and colorful backgrounds for each of my springtime designs. I hope that you love this tried-and-true technique.

Bold Daisy Stencil by Jayne Nelson for Hero Arts

To create my cards, I started by trimming two pieces of [hero_product_link sku="PS610" text="white layering paper"] slightly smaller than my card fronts. Then, I cut each panel, into three, equal width strips. I used these two color palettes to ink each of the strips with a section of the [hero_product_link sku="SA068" text="Bold Daisy Stencil"].

[hero_product_link sku="AF146" text="Soft Pool Shadow Ink"] - [hero_product_link sku="AF242" text="Soft Cantaloupe Shadow Ink"] - [hero_product_link sku="AF208" text="Bubble Gum Shadow Ink"]

For my first card, I embellished the stenciled background with a vellum circle, a seam binding bow, and an embossed, celebrate sentiment from the [hero_product_link sku="DC177" text="Celebrate Tag Stamp & Cut by Lia"] set. I love having a few celebration cards on hand as they are perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and congratulation wishes. I added an embossed swan from [hero_product_link sku="CL942" text="Origami Animals"] that I die-cut with [hero_product_link sku="DI175" text="Animals Frame Cuts"].

For my second card, I created a few label sentiments using a stamp and die-cut from [hero_product_link sku="DC180" text="Kelly's Labels Stamp & Cut"] set. I stamped a small sentiment from [hero_product_link sku="CL954" text="Many Everyday Messages"] inside each tiny label. But perhaps my favorite stamp on this card, is the adorable bird from [hero_product_link sku="CL934" text="Kelly's Girl Talk Planner"] set.

I used a few colored pencils to quickly add a touch of color to the bird. Then, I added all of the elements to the card front with some vellum and another seam binding bow. For a finishing touch, I added a few sparkly gems to each card. Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful and crafty week!

We Are Explorers

We Are Explorers

Have you checked out the background stamps? Today I'm featuring the [hero_product_link sku="S6144" text="Wave Pattern"]. I only used a portion of the image rather than the entire design:

We Are Explorers by Amy Tsuruta for Hero Arts

I inked up the [hero_product_link sku="S6144" text="Wave Pattern"] with [hero_product_link sku="AF310" text="Mint Julep to Emerald Green Ombre Ink"] and while it was sitting face up, I placed my Snow card stock panel directly onto the inked stamp. I generally grab a large clear block and run it over the card stock to ensure good ink coverage.

I decided where to trim the [hero_product_link sku="S6144" text="Wave Pattern"] panel and mounted it onto a [hero_product_link sku="PS620" text="Blush Layering"] panel. I couldn't wait to ink up "We Are Explorers" from [hero_product_link sku="LP373" text="Kelly's Happy Place"] set.

To create some added interest, I adhered a couple enamel dots in a contrasting color. This is a fun gender neutral design.

Thanks so much for stoppin' by today!
