Hello Love Bug

Hello Love Bug

Hello. Today I am sharing a fun card that I created with the cute Lunch Box Notes stamps and dies and a selection of Shadow Inks.

Hello Love Bug by Lucy Abrams for Hero Arts

To make this card, I first stamped the happy little bugs randomly on white card with Lime Green, Green Hills, Tide Pool, Mint Julep and Mint to Green Ombre inks. Next, I stamped the sentiments onto another piece of white card. I combined stamps from Spring Hello by Lia and Love Bug by Lia to create a cute custom message. I added a sheet of vellum on top of the stamped bug panel, then adhered the sentiment strip on top and stitched all three sheets together. I adhered the finished piece to a Pool Folded Card.

Hello Love Bug 2 by Lucy Abrams for Hero Arts

To finish off the card, I stamped another bug with Tide Pool ink on white card and cut it out with the coordinating frame cuts. I adhered it to the card with foam tape.

Thanks so much for visiting today, I hope you have a happy week.

Video: Fixing Heat Embossing Mistakes

Video: Fixing Heat Embossing Mistakes

Heat embossing can be tricky at times and making one wrong "move" can ruin your entire project. I'd like to share 2 simple ways I like to use to fix heat embossing mistakes (and the actual mistakes I made when making a card) in this blog post and video.

Just For You by Yana Smakula

I often struggle with getting a perfect heat embossed image. I like to do heat embossing over ink blended backgrounds, but never have the patience to wait for the paper to be completely dry, and over dark papers for maximum impact, where one tiny improper heat embossed dot can ruin everything.

Watch my video below to learn how I deal with fixing heat embossing mistakes in my work:

I started working on this card by creating an ink blended background. I've been enjoying working with colors lately - mixing and layering them for beautiful results. I used [hero_product_link sku="AF331" text="Dandelion"], [hero_product_link sku="AF263" text="Ultra Pink"], [hero_product_link sku="AF242" text="Soft Cantaloupe"] and [hero_product_link sku="AF335" text="Crimson"] ink colors for my ink blended background. Having yellow and pink mix together I was able to get beautiful coral and orange colors too.

I heat embossed a Just For You sentiment in [hero_product_link sku="PW110" text="white embossing powder"] and also embossed several flowers and leaves from the [hero_product_link sku="CL929" text="Just For You sey by Lia"] going around the sentiment. Colorful background really made the white embossing pop here. Part of my main sentiment was also stamped in [hero_product_link sku="AF101" text="Black ink"] onto a small die cut circle and was foam mounted over a background for a two-color look.

To anchor the black on this card I also added an additional element - another sentiment heat embossed on black cardstock. Sentiment reads You Brighten My Day and its from the [hero_product_link sku="DC151" text="Stamp & Cut Hello set"]. I thought it was perfect for this colorful card.

I also added a few clear drops and gold sequins and adhered two strips of gold glitter tape to finish this project.

Hello Card

Hello Card

Yesterday someone was asking me about my favorite color. I stopped what I was doing at that moment to think about it. Well, I came to the conclusion that I don't have a favorite one, just because I love many colors, specially the ones that make me feel happy. Yellow is one of those. Today I am featuring a pretty stamp set called [hero_product_link sku="CL953" text="Mason Jar Bugs"] along with other fabulous products to make this happy yellow card:

First of all, I want to point out that this set is quite pretty. It includes many fun bug images, sentiments, a net and even a Mason jar image. There is also a set of matching [hero_product_link sku="DI172" text="Frame Cuts"] and a [hero_product_link sku="DI083" text="Jar Die"] available. You can find the direct links to these products at the end of this post.

To start with this card, I stamped the branch with [hero_product_link sku="AF332" text="Caramel Hybrid Ink"], and leaves with [hero_product_link sku="AF343" text="Moss Hybrid Ink"] over a [hero_product_link sku="PS610" text="Snow Layering paper "] rectangle (2.75" x 4"). Then, on another piece of card stock I stamped the daisy with [hero_product_link sku="AF331" text="Dandelion Hybrid Ink"], and a butterfly image with [hero_product_link sku="AF330" text="Neon Red to Purple"] .

After that, I die cut the stamped images with their matching dies, and I adhered them onto the rectangular panel. To give a little bit of dimension to the daisy, I stacked three glue dots behind it, and for the butterfly I simply used foam tape.

I created the background over a [hero_product_link sku="PS566" text="Snow folded card"] with the [hero_product_link sku="SA068" text="Bold Daisy Stencil"], [hero_product_link sku="AF331" text="Dandelion Hybrid Ink"] and a sponge dauber.

Next, I used a "hello" sentiment included in a very useful set called [hero_product_link sku="CL954" text="Many Everyday Messages"] with [hero_product_link sku="AF345" text="Intense Black Ink"]. To enhance the word I put Glossy Accents over it. I embellished the card with baker's twine, pearls and gemstones.

That's all from me today. I hope you feel inspired to create with your favorite colors... Do you have one or more?
