Absolutely Awesome

Absolutely Awesome

Today's card features two stamps I think are absolutely awesome - the gorgeous new [hero_product_link sku="K6135" text="Antique Rose"] stamp from the 2016 Catalog, and one of my all-time favorite sentiments, the aptly-named [hero_product_link sku="G6071" text="Absolutely Awesome"]!

Absolutely Awesome by Libby Hickson for Hero Arts

I stamped the [hero_product_link sku="K6135" text="rose"] with [hero_product_link sku="AF345" text="Intense Black"] ink. It's perfect for using with my Copic markers, as it's alcohol ink-friendly. The [hero_product_link sku="CG689" text="leafy background"] was also stamped in [hero_product_link sku="AF345" text="Intense Black"] ink. The black was a little intense (ha! hence the name...) so I covered it with a piece of vellum to tone it down a bit, and heat embossed the [hero_product_link sku="G6071" text="sentiment"] right onto the vellum with [hero_product_link sku="PW115" text="brass embossing powder"].

The rose was trimmed and popped up on the card with dimensional tape. Black Enamel Accents from Ranger were added to the flower center for a bit of extra dimension.

Thanks for stopping by - I hope your day is absolutely awesome!

Hero Arts : DIY Watercolor Card using Peerless Watercolors

Hello! Where do you draw your inspiration from? It's not usual for me, but this time I got inspired by the colors from the [hero_product_link sku="AF329" text="Neon Chartreuse to Blue ombre ink pad"] for today's card.

I wanted to create a soft and lovely look with watercolors, featuring the [hero_product_link sku="CG687" text="alphabet background"] and [hero_product_link sku="CL940" text="Balloon Animal Birthday"] stamps. And here is what I came up with:

Hero Arts : DIY Watercolor Card using Peerless Watercolors

I started by stamping the [hero_product_link sku="CG687" text="background"] on a piece of white cardstock measured at 4"x5.5" using the [hero_product_link sku="AF329" text="ombre ink"]. Then I stamped the [hero_product_link sku="CL940" text="balloon animals] with black ink on some watercolor paper.

I loosely watercolored my balloons with Peerless Watercolors, trying not to color entire space as I love the white spaces left here and there. Next, I die cut the colored images using [hero_product_link sku="DI168" text="the matching dies"] and popped them up on the card front.

I added the stamped panel onto [hero_product_link sku="PS640" text="pool cardstock"]. Then the [hero_product_link sku="CL954" text="sentiment"] was heat embossed with [hero_product_link sku="PW110" text="white embossing powder"].

I've been intimidated by watercoloring for a long time, but now I'm getting more comfortable with using watercolors for my projects. That doesn't mean my watercoloring is good enough, though. I just find myself having fun watercoloring these days. :)

That’s all I have for today! I hope you enjoyed seeing my card and got some inspiration. Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!
