May My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #1 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the May My Monthly Hero kit! Release day is Monday, May 1st at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. We’ll be here for the next three days, sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as new optional add-on products that will be available on Monday. Don’t forget to comment on each and every post as we we’ll be giving away a kit on Monday morning, before the kit launches! In this post Michelle shares the first look at this fantastic kit!

What another great kit this month! It is absolutely beautiful and can be used for so many occasions. I absolutely adore the mermaids in this kit and I know you are going to love it too!

For my card, I started off by stamping one of the mermaids from the main kit stamp set using Intense Black Ink. She was then coloured using Copic Markers and cut out with the coordinating die. I took a white piece of cardstock and cut an aperture from it using the Nesting Oval Infinity Dies. I took a white A2 card base and added a piece of the ice blue metallic paper from the kit on to it. I then added a piece of the beautiful swirl tissue paper that is also in the kit, and added this on top. I love that you get the texture from the top paper and the shimmer from the bottom one when layered together. I then added the aperture piece on top with foam tape.

The mermaid was added to the bottom right with foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment using Intense Black Ink on to a scrap of white cardstock and cut this out. This was also added to the card with foam tape. To finish off, I added Ombre Ocean Sequins and a little shimmer pen to the mermaid.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all the countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, May 1st, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Enjoy the rest of the countdown!
