Awesome Add-ons: March Edition

mmh_awesomeaddons_600

Hi stampers, it’s time for this month’s Awesome Add-ons feature! Before we dive into the projects, here’s a peek at all of the add-on products that we introduced along with the March kit last week — five clear stamp sets (one with coordinating Frame Cuts), one woodblock stamp, and one Paper Layering Die that’s perfect for Spring and Easter projects. Lots of creative options!

Today our Creative Team is going to share some fabulous “beyond the kit” ideas for a few of the add-ons. First up is Jayne with a fun and fresh design that’s just perfect for any season.

Jayne: I created a pair of friendship cards using the wonderful Basket of Apples woodblock stamp and some stamps from the new Egg-cellent! set. These produce themed stamps are perfect for making “farm-fresh” cards and embellishing scrapbook pages!

After stamping a sentiment with black ink onto a white cardstock panel, I embossed and fussy cut a decorative frame onto black cardstock. I love how the trimmed panel, paired with a few sketchy rays, resembles a chalkboard. I also stamped and embossed a second sentiment from the Egg-cellent! set onto green cardstock. After punching small holes into the top of the frame and the sentiment tag, I tied them together with a twine bow.

I colored the Basket of Apples image with markers and then used scissors to fussy-cut around the shape. I added the colorful basket to the black panel and then finished the card with a trio of ombre green sequins that I secured with small adhesive dots.

And next, Amy takes our herbs in an artsy direction with a splash of watercolor.

Amy: Aren’t the March Add-on products so much fun? Today I’m featuring Fresh Herbs.

My card started off with a quick yellow watercolor wash. I’m smitten with the Pool + Moss color combo! The herbs have been stamped in Moss Bold Ink. The pots are from the Merry Cactus Frame Cuts set, cut from a panel from the Pool Mix Layering Paper Pack.

The sentiment is from the Add-on, Egg-cellent stamp set. Truth be told, I have a horrible black thumb so these are my kind of plants.

We hope you enjoyed today’s projects featuring just a few of the March add-ons. Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy stamping!
