Valentine’s Day. Just those two words can play on your emotions or your pocketbook and, for some of us, both. Ha! Hi, I’m
Debi Adams and I love Valentine’s Day! Though some insist the day is all tied to commercialism, I don’t see it that way at all. I look at it as an opportunity to shower people with kindness and love. It can be done on any day really and it doesn’t have to be over the top. Just a token of thoughtfulness is appreciated.
So this brings us to today’s project. Created with my
Match Book,
Just Chillin and
Reaction Sets, this Valentine’s favor (or with the right paper, all-occasion favor) will spread a little sunshine without breaking the bank. It’s quick and easy to cut, fold and assemble.
Once the
Match Book has been die cut, die cut the heart from
Just Chillin from the center of the large Match Book flap. Fold where indicated by score lines, insert a bagged goodie into the bottom, small flap, and staple in the center about half way down so that the front flap is able to get tucked in.
Now die cut the banner from
Just Chillin from both red-glittered cardstock and white cardstock. Stamp the sentiment with red ink onto the white banner and adhere to the glittered banner. Attach the banner to the sides of the heart.
Quick and easy, right? It looks especially cool if the cardstock for the
Match Book is double sided. It makes it pretty inside and out.
Oh hey! Don’t discard the hearts you die-cut from the center of your
Match Book. They make for a great mini-banner! Die-cut some small circles from gold cardstock and alternate the hearts with the circles. Attach some love words here and there, or not. Mine came on a printed piece of cardstock. Adhere the pieces onto a piece of twine. Nothing went to waste on this project and now you have a pretty little banner for your mantle. You could also string them onto two pieces of bamboo skewers to use as a banner for a cake.
