A Trio of Lia Griffith Watercolored Cards

A Trio of Lia Griffith Watercolored Cards

Hello. Today I have a trio of cards to share with you, each one combining 3x3" clear sets from our Lia Griffith collection with simple watercoloring.

My first card features the Enjoy Fruit by Lia set, along with a sentiment from Spring Hello by Lia. For this card, I stamped the fruits on some watercolor paper with Versamark, added White Embossing Powder and heat set. Then I painted the fruits and background. Next, I stamped and white embossed the sentiment on vellum, trimmed it down and stitched it to the watercolor panel.

Fruity Thank You by Lucy Abrams for Hero ArtsTo finish, I adhered the panel to a Snow Folded Card, and embellished with white pearls.

My second card features the Just for You by Lia set. I stamped the flowers and sentiments in Black Ink and Versamark, clear embossed and painted with watercolors.

Just For You by Lucy Abrams for Hero ArtsOnce dry, I trimmed the panel down, added some stitching and adhered to a Foliage Folded Card.

To create this card, I first die cut a tag from watercolor paper, then stamped the sentiment in Black Ink. I added some stitching and splattered the tag with shimmery mist. Next, I stamped and heat embossed the fox and ice cream, painted them, and hand cut them out. I adhered the images to the tag, and added a few Pool gemstones for extra sparkle.

Party Time by Lucy Abrams for Hero ArtsTo finish, I repeatedly stamped the word 'Yay' on a Pool Folded Card with Soft Pool Ink, then added the tag with foam tape.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you have a happy stampy day.

Spinner Card with Town Essentials

Spinner Card with Town Essentials

Interactive cards are something new to me, but very appealing. By adding a little movable mechanism to a project one can really take it to a whole new level and create that WOW effect for the recipient.

Today I'm sharing an interactive spinner We Moved card using fun [hero_product_link sku="CL951" text="Town Essentials stamp set"].

Spinner "We Moved" Card with Town Essentials Stamps by Yana Smakula for Hero Arts

[hero_product_link sku="CL951" text="Town Essentials stamp set"] is a great set filled with lots of images of houses, trees and things you usually see on the street. Its perfect for creating Welcome to the Neighborhood and similar cards. I've shared three other projects ideas on my blog using it, you can check them out here (there's also a video).

To create the spinner mechanism for this project I die cut two circles - a larger one and a smaller one. The images were stamped onto the larger circle using [hero_product_link sku="AF345" text="Intense Black ink"], which is a Copic-friendly ink and colored with Copic markers.

I then poked a hole in the center of both circles and connected them using a small brad. The smaller circle was foam mounted onto a white cardstock panel. This allowed my top circle to spin freely.

To finish this card I stamped a street background onto dark grey card base using [hero_product_link sku="CG692" text="Street Map"] stamp and [hero_product_link sku="AF236" text="Charcoal"] ink. I also heat embossed a simple We Moved, Come Visit sentiment from the [hero_product_link sku="CL951" text="Town Essentials stamp set"] using [hero_product_link sku="PW110" text="white embossing powder"].
