With Sympathy Using Pencils

With Sympathy Using Pencils

Good morning! Emily Midgett here with you today to share a soft sympathy card using the technique that I demonstrated in my recent video (you can watch it here). Today, I've applied the technique to the Hero Florals Rose Stem!

I started by stamping the Rose Stem stamp onto a panel of Pool Layering Paper using Unicorn ink. As I mention in the video, the Layering Papers have a special type of coating on them that makes them perfect for working with colored pencils. I've been in a no-line coloring craze lately, and I couldn't wait to test it out on this pretty image. It's a little bit distressed looking stamped by itself, but I was able to create a cleaner image using the no-line technique. After I had stamped my image, I used my Prismacolor pencils to color in the image. Because I spent a decent amount of time coloring the image, I wanted to keep the rest of the layout simple, so I trimmed the Pool panel down and mounted it on a panel of Snow paper to create a white frame.

The final step was to heat emboss the greeting from the Rose Stem stamp set in silver on a strip of white card stock. I popped it up with some foam adhesive just to add a little more dimension to the card front.

Well, that's all for me today! I hope you had a wonderful holiday and have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by.

It’s beautiful Emily and this shows that you don’t have to use dark colours for a sypahty card. Thank you and have a nice weekend.
