Video: Watercolor with New Hero Hues Reactive Inks

Video: Watercolor with New Hero Hues Reactive Inks

Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today sharing a new video using the brand new Hero Hues Reactive Inks as watercolors! These water-soluble inks work beautifully for blending, but their reactive properties make them fantastic for watercoloring, as well! Here's the video, or you can go to YouTube to watch it in HD:

Here's a quick synopsis of the technique shown in the video: I began by heat embossing the lighthouse image from the new From the Vault Beach and Sea using Embossing ink and some silver embossing powder on watercolor paper. I also die cut the Beach Fancy Die from some more watercolor paper.

I then used Fog, Green Apple, Blue Hawaii, Pool Party, Blue Raspberry, and Fruit Punch Reactive Inks with water and a damp paintbrush to watercolor the images and create a sky. I took advantage of the reactive properties in the inks to blot out some of the blue sky to create clouds.

I also added some Sand Embossing powder to the Beach die cut. I adhered the embossing powder to the die cut by dabbing some Crystal Clear m Lacquer on some of the die cut, then covering it with the embossing powder and heating it with the heat tool. I adhered the watercolored die cut panel to the card front with foam tape.

Finally, I stamped and embossed a greeting from From the Vault Beach and Sea on some Pitch Black card stock, then added it to the card front.

Well, that's all for me today! I hope you'll watch the video to see how easily these new Reactive Inks move with a paintbrush. It's so wonderful to find new uses for these fabulous products. I'm always in favor of finding ways to get more bang for your buck! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous week!
