Golden Thanks

Stencils are a great tool to have in your stash to create backgrounds and there are so many ways you can use them. Today I created a stunning background that took less than two minutes using Gold Shimmer Spray.

Thanks by Kelly Rasmussen for Hero ArtsTo create the background I placed a piece of kraft cardstock in a cardboard box and laid the Crossing Waves Stencil over the top. (The box is a great way to catch the over-spray!) Then I used the gold spray over the entire stencil. Be sure to carefully remove the stencil so the ink doesn’t smudge and then use a heat gun to speed up the drying time. It’s hard to capture the gold shimmer of this background in a photo, but it’s gorgeous in real life!

Thanks by Kelly Rasmussen for Hero ArtsFor the message, I used the Ribbon Letters by Lia to spell out the word
“thanks” using a mix of fall colored inks including Just Rust, Pumpkin Pie and Dark Quartz. The sentiment was mounted over a gold vellum circle and embellished with a scattering of Sunshine Mixed Accents.

It had been a while since I had used any spray mists, but I think I might be hooked again!
