Subtle Foiling With Press Plates

Hi friends, Lisa here today to share a card with subtle foiling using the Lavish Flourish Letterpress and Foil Plate. Press plates are so fun to use! You can press them, emboss them and foil them and each gives a really different look. Today I am foiling and I am using a tried and tested foiling technique which will give me a really pretty backdrop for my flowers.

I started off by taking the Lavish Flourish plate and foiling it onto an A2 panel of Spellbinders Fog ColorWheel Cardstock using Opal Glimmer Hot Foil and the Glimmer Hot Foil System. Opal Foil gives a beautiful pearlescent finish and is great on any colour cardstock, even white. However, I often use it on a neutral coloured cardstock. Once I had foiled it at the top of my panel, I flipped the plate around and foiled it onto the bottom half. I left a small section free in the middle so that I could place my sentiment.

I then took the Nesting Rectangle Infinity Dies and cut the panel down before adhering it onto an A2 note card that I created from Deluxe Smooth White Cardstock.

Next I took the Love and Florals Fancy Dies and cut them from Kiwi, Azalea, Peony, Amethyst and Passion Flower Cardstock. I adhered the flower heads onto the stems where required.

I took the Let's Celebrate Clear Stamp Set and stamped the "Enjoy Your Day" sentiment onto Fog cardstock using Clear Embossing and Watermark Ink. I applied Silver Embossing Powder and heat set it before trimming it down using a paper trimmer. I then added this into my centre section using some foam tape.

I then arranged my flowers around the sentiment and either added them with Precision Glue or foam tape. To finish, I added some silver gems into the flower centres and a few extras around the card.

Have you ever tried foiling with your press plates? It's a great way to stretch your supplies and at the same time, create a very different look on your card. Thank you so much for joining me here on the blog today, I hope you have a great day!
