Pieced Mermaid Fountain

Hi everyone, Ilina here today sharing a card using a new set from the 2018 Catalog, called Make a Fountain. This stamp set has a lot of elements to build your own fountain and add different details. As well, it comes with coordinating Frame Cuts. However, I opted to not use the dies this time, since I wanted to cut out the elements very close to the stamped line and avoid the white border around them.

I started by stamping the images with Intense Black Ink on white alcohol marker friendly card stock, then colored the images using Copic markers and fussy cut them, so there is no white border around them. To give all the elements a nice finished look I used a black brush pen to color around the edges and mask the white core of the card stock.

Next, I adhered them onto a 4" x 5 1/4" panel of Snow Layering Paper and stamped the sentiment with Intense Black Ink.

For my note card, I used one of the Pool Mix folded note cards and stamped the Starry Night Brushstroke Bold Prints background stamp in Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. I adhered my panel using some fun foam and added Ombre ocean sequins to finish off my card!

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope you are inspired to do something creative today!

Karthikha Uday,

That’s a creative take! Lovely card :)

pat smith,

You did such a nice job on this card. I love the watery background card stock, and the little mermaid perched on the top of the fountain. Great job. Your coloring is very nicely done.

amy,

So cute!!
