March My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway

March My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome as we continue the countdown to the release of the March My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, March 2 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Now let's join Emily for another look at this tree-mendous (sorry!) kit.

Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today sharing some more inspiration using the March 2020 My Monthly Hero kit. This kit features some absolutely gorgeous new layering stamps in the "HeroScapes" style (such an ingenious concept!), this time with a bit of an Asian flair! I've used the stamps and pink inks to create some traditional pink cherry blossoms, but you really could use these beautiful trees in so many different ways... autumn leaves would be beautiful stamped with these layering stamps! Let's get started with the details of my project.

I began by stamping the trees using Bubble Gum, Ultra Pink, and Soft Brown inks, then die cut them with the coordinating Frame Cuts included in the kit. I heat embossed the top layer of one of the trees using some White Satin Pearl embossing powder to give it a little extra shine!

Next, I die cut an oval from another A2 panel of white cardstock using the Nesting Oval Infinity Frames dies. I stamped a greeting from the main kit in the bottom right corner of the panel. I also stamped the beautiful layering grassy stamps on another plain panel of white A2 cardstock using Fresh Lawn and Emerald Green inks. I then used blending brushes to blend a bit of sky using Summer Sky ink to create a lovely spring day.

I layered the oval frame over the top of the grassy spring panel using Precision Glue, then added the cherry blossom tree die cuts with some foam adhesive. I trimmed the overhang of the trees off, then added them to the other side to make sure that nothing went to waste!

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, March 2 before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Emily this card is wonderful! I like the placement of the rock path. It gave me a feeling of my time in Colorado hiking with my friends. Thank you for sharing your gift.

Each card gets more stunning! The embossed layer is genius and so beautiful. High contrast on the Toro is the perfect pop of color for balance. (P.s I had to look up the name of that little lantern — your kits are inspiring in so many ways!!) The “no waste” made this card way beautiful!

Beautiful scene. The embossing on the pretty trees adds so much dimension and really makes them come alive.
