February My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway

February My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway

We are back for another countdown post, leading up to the release of the February My Monthly Hero kit! Release day is Monday, February 4 at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. We'll be sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as new optional add-on products that will be available on Monday. Don't forget to leave a comment on this and every post for a chance to win a kit! Now let's join Nichol who is sharing another look at this fun kit...

Hello friends. Today I'm sharing a couple of card ideas with the February My Monthly Hero Kit. I love the 1920's Art Deco theme of the kit and add-ons and was inspired by the design of the die in the main kit to create these framed up designs.

I was able to get two cards out of the die cuts by creating inlay backgrounds. The die from the main kit was die cut from gold mirror cardstock twice to use as the frames for both cards. The die was then die cut again from both black mirror cardstock and champagne gold glitter cardstock. The black and glitter cardstock were used to create the inlays.

I used the line art images from the main kit and stamped them on smooth white cardstock with Intense Black Ink. The images were colored in with Copic Markers.

Copic Marker colors used:
Woman: E000, E00, E11, R21, BV31, BV34, E30, E31, E55, R000, R00, R30
Man: E000, E00, E11, R30, E55, E57, C00, C3, C6, C8, C9
A sentiment from the Deco Celebration add-on stamp set was stamped above the man and woman with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. Additional stamped greetings/images from the Deco Celebration set were stamped inside the wedding card and embossed with gold embossing powder to finish the design.

I love how the same design can be used for many different occasion cards. For the second card I used the same design but used the single female image holding the martini glass from the main kit along with a sentiment from the main kit to match the image.

Copic Markers used: E000, E00, E11, R21, E30, E55, R000, R00, R32, BV31, BV34, B00, B000, G82, R24

I hope this has given you some ideas on how to use the stamps, dies, and confetti from the February kit. I can't wait to see what you make with this awesome new kit and add-ons!

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We'll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all the countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, February 4, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific time. The more you comment, the more chances to win! Good luck!

I love everything Nichol shares with us! And these two cards are no exception. The inlay technique is one of my favorite ones to use. I love the delicate coloring of the elegant “dollface” lady and the timeless wedding card. This kit will be a favorite among favorites!
