Elegant Watercolored Critters

There's so many cute little critters from the Spring 2018 release that could make adorable cards (as you've already seen from the rest of the creative team!). Today I thought I'd do a simpler and rather elegant take on two of my favorites (and I'm totally unbiased ;)) - Elephant Pair and Loving Giraffes.

I started out by stamping both pairs in Indigo on watercolor cardstock. I then colored them in loosely and quickly with Indigo Liquid Watercolor, and then masked them off.

After masking of the animals, I then created another mask by taking a piece of scratch paper, cut down to A2 card size (4.25"x5.5") and then die cut an oval out of the center.

I then added some removable adhesive to the corners of the scratch paper and used it as a second mask.

The beautiful Holiday Florals background was stamped in Fresh Peach, and then the masks peeled off - oila! I love using this background for non-holiday cards!

I really didn't want to cover any of the pretty watercolor or background with a sentiment, but you could totally do so, or even slide in a sentiment in the corner.

Thanks so much for stopping in today and God bless!
