April My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #3 + Giveaway!

Hello! We are back with our second day of sneak peeks and ideas for using our April My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons, leading up to the release on Monday, April 3rd at 1pm eastern/10am pacific. We’ll be sharing additional inspiration today for using the main kit and some of the optional add-on products. In this post, Jayne uses stamps from the monthly kit, along with a new add-on stencil, to create a pair of modern, vintage-inspired cards.

It’s been said before, but I think that I literally squealed aloud when I saw this month’s kit for the first time! If you love fashion or if you like modern images with vintage appeal, then this kit’s for you! The kit includes a delightful stamp set, plus matching dies, that is perfect for making cards for female friends and relatives of all ages!

To make these cards, I started by creating pink and pool card bases with two of the beautiful sheets of cardstock included in this month’s kit. Then, I used the gorgeous, new add-on Diamond Stencil (SA103) to selectively ink a partial pattern on two panels of white layering paper with Bubble Gum and Soft Pool inks. After removing the stencils, I applied additional ink over the stenciled areas to create a fully inked, geometric pattern.

Next, I embossed custom sentiments from this month’s kit onto strips of black layering paper and added them to the stenciled panels. Without giving too much away, there are lots of sentiment options in the kit and as you can see, the script is beautiful!

Then, I simply had too much fun stamping these strong, glamorous women! Using a selection of small images in the monthly kit, I stamped two different, but equally radiant, ladies! I used colored pencils to add some subtle color to each image and then secured the panels to the cards with foam tape. I finished each card with three black pearls. Don’t you just love these images?

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all of the comments left across all countdown posts and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, April 3rd, before the kit launches at 1pm eastern. The more you comment, the more chances you’ll have to win!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop by again this afternoon for more peeks at this month’s kit and optional add-ons!
