How to Make a Christmas Snow Globe Card
Follow the steps below to create a dimensional winter snow globe scene featuring a holiday truck loaded with Christmas gifts.
Step 1 – Choose a Holiday Color Palette

When you are looking for colour inspiration, there is no better place to start than the DIY Color Deck System.
This is a system of 52 cards, each containing an art piece. On the back of the cards, you will find inspirational quotes, creative prompts, and color theory information.
To build on that color system, there is an additional Holiday DIY Color Deck Expansion Pack featuring seasonal artwork.
When selecting your colours for swatching, remember they do not have to match the inspiration card exactly. Use the artwork as a starting point to build your own holiday palette.
Step 2 – Die-cut the Globe, Base & Background Trees

For all die cutting, use the Platinum SIX Die Cutting Machine.
- Die-cut the globe circle from Windy and Classic White cardstock.
- Die-cut the globe base from Windy cardstock.
- Die-cut three trees from Fern cardstock.

Tape your dies to the cardstock and run them through the machine.
Designer Tip: Place your die cuts into a Craft Stax Medium Tray for safekeeping.
Step 3 – Die Cut the Car

- Die-cut the truck from Bellini cardstock.
- Die-cut truck trims and light casings from Coral cardstock.
- Die-cut lights and rails from Tuscan cardstock.
- Die-cut bumpers from Fog cardstock.
- Die-cut wheels from Raven, Windy, and Classic White cardstock.
Step 4 – Die-cut the Presents

- Die-cut bows and ribbons from Classic White cardstock.
- Die-cut gift boxes from Bellini, Windy, Fern, and Coral cardstock.
Step 5 – Die-cut the Sentiment, Christmas Tree and Snowbanks

- Die-cut the sentiment and banner pieces.
- Die-cut the tree, snow layer, trunk and star.
- Die-cut the snow globe border pieces.
Step 6 – Assemble the Car

Layer the wheel pieces together.

Adhere the light casings to the truck.

Add the yellow lights.

Attach wheel trims.

Glue wheels into place.

Attach the bumpers.

Add trim along the cargo area.

Add vellum behind the windows.

Attach the yellow rail piece.

Glue the rails into position to complete the truck.
Step 7 – Assemble the Tree and Presents

Assemble the Christmas tree using the trunk, snow layer, and star.

Begin assembling the presents.

Add the lower bow sections.

Add the top bow pieces.

Remove the sentiment die-cut pieces.

Adhere the sentiment to its base layer.
Step 8 – Emboss the Background

Prepare the Winter Peace Press Plate and BetterPress System using an A2 panel of Chiffon cardstock.

Run the platform through the Platinum SIX Machine.
Designer Tip: Using the plate with no ink creates a beautiful embossed effect.
Step 9 – Assemble the Card

Layer the snowbanks onto the globe background.

Add double foam adhesive behind the truck.

Position the truck onto the snowbanks.

Add the background trees.

Attach the decorated tree and gifts.

Add adhesive to the globe base.

Attach the base and sentiment.

Add dimensional presents.

Prepare the globe for mounting.

Adhere the snow globe to the embossed panel.

Add Gold Mix Gems and adhere the completed panel to an A2 card base. Your project is finished.
