Wish You Were Here

When I was a kid, the summertime meant my family would go on "Sunday drives". After a while, my mom learned to pack an overnight bag when my dad gathered us in the car for one of his drives. We never knew where we'd end up! The hero_product_link sku="CL973" text="Road Trip"] stamps from the Summer release brought back many happy memories of these family adventures!

When we took our road trips from Michigan, we never ended up in the mountains like the ones in this little scene. But it's nice to dream! Maybe that message should say wish *I* was *there*! I stamped the road and mountains, stamping off for the highest mountains so they are lighter. Then I added watercolor paint. The trees were stamped with paint directly on my stamp, so I could keep the softer watercolored look.

This next card was created for Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine - they featured the Road Trip set in their "10 Most Wanted" in their summer issue. I cut some Snow paper to look like a little Polaroid, and colored my mountain scene with Copics this time.

Do you love to road trip? There are so many parts of our beautiful country I'd still love to see! Perhaps I need to start going on Sunday drives with my own family!
