Using Die Cuts to Highlight A Sentiment

Hi crafty friends! It's Jeannie and today, I'm sharing a card that features the July Die of the Month. Dies are really fun because they are usually pretty versatile. You can use them as a focal point or use it to create a background or even place them to highlight a sentiment.

To create this card, I started with a piece of Deluxe Smooth White cardstock along some double sided adhesive tape that covers the entire piece of cardstock, making it easy to stick things down once it's die cut. I’ll use the July Die of the Month and die cut the images twice.

IYKYK -- cassette tapes have two sides. Once you listen to side A, and then you flip it moving to side B to listen to the other side. I used to record my own songs while listening to the radio waiting.

I die cut the images and if you know me, I love to use my alcohol markers to color, giving it that extra dimension!

Once the die cuts were put together, I decided to line them up diagonally but allowed spacing to stamp my sentiment. As an added touch, I decided to write in Side A and Side B to mark the cassette tape like I did with my own mix tapes!

To finish off this card, I added my die cuts to Adriatic cardstock to really let the cassettes pop. I also pulled out the July Stamp & Cut set to use a mix of sentiments, cursive and regular font, stamping them with Intens-ified Black Ink at a diagonal on Deluxe Smooth White Cardstock. By putting them in between the two die cuts, it brings your focus directly to the sentiment!

I adore this July Die of the Month because it really is a throwback to me with happy memories! I hope you enjoyed this idea for how to use your July Die Set of the Month. Thank you for stopping by!
