Timeless Classic

There are certain stamps that work well with just about any style or technique, and today’s featured stamp, Wallpaper Pattern Bold Prints, is just one of those. I had the darnedest time deciding on just how I wanted to showcase it for today – embossed, patterned, watercolored, etc – and in the end, I just decided to add a little ink and water and let the stamp speak for itself.

I inked up the background with a modge-podge of purple Distress Inks, lightly misted the stamp with some water, and stamped it on some watercolor cardstock. Once it had dried, I adhered a strip of vellum, by adding the adhesive to the parts of the vellum that wrap behind the front of the card.

For my flowers, I stamped some Color Layering Graphic Flowers in purple, bright mint and yellow, then I also added a bit of water to them to bring the color out. Once those were dried, I topped them off with black gems and adhered them to the vellum.

Finally, for my sentiment; I die a little partial die cutting and trimming to cut the Thanks Stamp and Cut die out of black cardstock. I left the bottom of the cardstock attached to the sentiment, and trimmed it down, so I could stamp and heat emboss a pairing sentiment in white.

I must’ve made about four different backgrounds with this stamp already (they’ll probably make an appearance on my blog sooner or later) because it’s just so darn versatile and so hard to put down! A timeless classic that works well with any style or technique!

Thanks so much for stopping in today and God bless!
