September My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #2 + Giveaway

September My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #2 + Giveaway

Hello! We are continuing the countdown to the release of the September My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Tuesday, September 3rd at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. Now let's join Caly for another look at our next kit!

Hi, Friends! Do you love the Peek-A-Boo products from Hero Arts? If so, you're in for a new creative treat! We currently have the Peek-A-Boo Doors Fancy Die and the Circular Peek-A-Boo Doors Fancy Die, and now with this kit, we'll have a new peek-a-boo style!

This kit comes with many small stamps to fill the openings, some of which are Halloween-themed. I decided to make my card a friendship theme.

I started by die-cutting the peek-a-boo die from the kit using white cardstock. I find that this helps me line up my stamp better. Tip: Place the stamps you want over the doors of your stamped/die-cut panel to make sure everything lines up perfectly in your favorite stamp positioner tool, then place a blank piece of paper over that panel and stamp - this ensures that everything lines up well when you adhere the two pieces together.

I colored to mimic stacked vintage briefcases. But I didn't want them to be brown or black, so I colored with Copic markers using pinks, purples, greens and blues.

Copic marker colors used: N1, Y13, Y26, B0000, B01, RV11, R85, G00, BG32, V000, V01, V04.

The t-brackets and labeling plates are colored with a gold Wink of Luna pen - I thought this would give more contrast to the gold-colored around each "case." Once I colored, I folded back all the doors to make them easier to open after adhering the peek-a-boo panel to the reveal panel.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Tuesday morning, September 3rd, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

I hope you enjoyed this project and that you're inspired by our countdown until the kit's release!
