Olympic Inspiration: Make It Metallic

Today marks the start of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games! Sparked by this event, I thought it would be fun to include gold, silver and bronze all on one card, and also represent the symbolism of the Olympic rings with the Circle Graphic Background. This stamp has three circular sections that are perfect for highlighting each of the Olympic medal colors.

I started by stamping the background onto charcoal cardstock several times, heat embossing the various sections with gold, silver, and copper (representing "bronze") embossing powder.

Embossing

Once embossed, the pieces were cut out and mounted back in place, right on top of the clear-embossed full background. And here's how it all came together...

Metallic Congratulations by Tami Hartley for Hero Arts

Each section was popped up on foam tape for a bit of dimension.

Congratulations

I opted for a Congratulations sentiment this time, but I think this design would also work well for masculine birthday cards. Those always seem to be a struggle for me! Metallics and neutrals are often my go-to.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope this card has inspired you today. Will you be tuning in to watch the Olympics? What is your favorite event? Go for the gold and have a wonderful weekend! :)
