October My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #2 + Giveaway!

October My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #2 + Giveaway!

We are back with another idea for using our October My Monthly Hero kit, leading up to the release on Monday, October 2nd at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We'll be sharing inspiration for using the main kit and the optional add-on products all weekend. In this post, Jayne uses stamps and dies from the monthly kit to create a fun and colorful Christmas card.

If you love delightful winter images, perfect for coloring, I think that you will adore the October My Monthly Hero Kit! The kit includes a large stamp set with varied holiday images that are perfect for creating irresistible winter scenes. To make creating your scenes even easier, the kit also comes with a die set!

To make my card, I started by partially covering a celadon card base with pieces of green and red cardstock. I also embossed two sentiments from the kit onto the corner.

To create a snow globe, I used a circle die to cut a blue cardstock circle that I embossed with snowflake stamps from the kit. Next, using the same die, I cut a circle from the white, textured paper included in the kit. After cutting a wavy line across the circle, I secured a piece along the lower edge of the blue globe to resemble snow. Then, I trimmed the lower part of the circle to create a straight edge. To create a base, I cut a strip of green cardstock, embossed it with holly images, and then used a small circle die to trim away the upper corners.

To create the scene, I stamped a few of the cute images from this month's kit onto white cardstock with Intense Black ink. I colored the images with colored pencils and then used the coordinating dies to cut out each image. I also added two more embossed sentiment strips. I finished the card with a few green sequins and a twine bow.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We'll randomly draw one lucky winner from all of the comments left across all countdown posts and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, October 2nd, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances you'll have to win!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to stop by again tomorrow and Sunday for more peeks at this month's amazing kit.
