October My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #1 + Giveaway!

Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the October My Monthly Hero kit! Release day is Monday, October 2nd at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific! We’ll be here throughout the weekend, sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as new optional add-on products that will be available on Monday. And don’t forget to comment on each and every Countdown post - we’ll be giving away a kit on Monday morning, before the kit launches! Here’s Jess with a first look at the kit!

This kit is jam-packed with adorable stamps and dies and I decided to focus on some of the fun landscape dies to create a wintry holiday scene!

To start I used dauber tools to apply ink to the top of a piece of cardstock. I dabbed on Rose Madder, Summer Sky, and Orchid Bold Inks to resemble the Northern Lights. Once I was happy with those colors I added Navy and Intense Black ink. I concentrated on the outer edges of the panel and the areas between the brighter colors. Then I swiped the brighter colors across the panel again to make sure there was no white space. Once I was happy with the colors I set it aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.

I die-cut the mountains using the silver glitter paper that's included in the kit and then die-cut the pine trees from Snow Layering Paper. I stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder before trimming it down to a label. Once the blended panel was totally dry I stamped the silhouette of Santa's sleigh and his reindeer and heat-embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder. Finally I layered the mountains and trees over the blended panel and then adhered the sentiment.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We'll randomly draw one lucky winner from all of the comments left across all countdown posts and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, October 2nd, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to come back later today for a closer look at some of the fabulous stamps in the kit! ;)
