November My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway

November My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome back to the countdown to the release of the November My Monthly Hero kit! Release day is Monday, November 4, at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We will be here all weekend long, sharing inspiration before the launch on Monday. Now let's join Emily for a look at this gorgeous, traditional holiday kit!

Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today, and I've got a clean and traditional holiday card for you created with several images from our newest My Monthly Hero kit!! This kit has so many beautiful scene-building elements that it's easy to create a wide variety of cards, from elaborate scenes to simpler vignettes, as I've created for today's project. Let's get started with the details!

There are times that I can't help myself from creating a super detailed, elaborate card, with lots of different stamped elements, coloring, ink blending, die cutting, etc. But, the holiday sometimes require you to be able to create many cards relatively quickly, and I love that the elements in this kit allow you to do just that! For today's card, I die cut a few of the larger stamps (you're going to love the size of the stamps in this month's kit; they're quite substantial, easy to turn a few of them into a card lickety split!) including the tree, chair with the snoozing kitty, Santa hat, and gift using the coordinating Frame Cuts included in the main kit. I then stamped them using my MISTI (for perfect placement) using Intens-ified Black Ink.

After I'd stamped all of the images, I used my Copic markers to add some color in a pretty hot pink, aqua, and white color scheme. (My husband won't let me have pink on our Christmas trees, so I have to get my pink in somewhere!) I arranged the images in a cluster and added some foam tape to the back to keep them exactly as I'd arranged them. I lightly blended a little Soft Pool ink on a white card base using a blender brush, then added the fantastic greeting (included in the main kit) with some more Intens-ified Black Ink. I also added a few dots of Crystal Clear Lacquer on the ornaments to add a little extra texture to the card front.

And there you have it! A little Copic coloring, a little ink blending, some dimension.... et voila! A simple but effective holiday card!

Well, that's all for me today, but I have some fun giveaway information for you!

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, November 4, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!
