December My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway

December My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway

It's time for our fourth countdown peek! The December My Monthly Hero kit will be available on Monday, December 2 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Now let’s join Emily, who is sharing another look at this beautifully detailed kit celebrating our Earth!

Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today for another sneak peek of the December My Monthly Hero kit. This month's kit features an absolutely stunning image of "Mother Earth." It's incredibly detailed, not to mention massive, and it's just. so. pretty! I've paired it with my watercolors and some ink blending to create this vibrant project, so let's get started with the details!

To begin, I stamped the large Mother Earth image from the December My Monthly Hero kit using Intens-ified Black ink on some hot press watercolor paper. I then used my Daniel Smith watercolors to add some vibrant watercoloring to the flora and fauna represented within her skirt and accessories! This image is massive, covering the majority of an A2 card front all on its own. I die cut the image using the coordinating die included in the kit, as well as watercoloring and die cutting a few extra birds and a butterfly.

Once I'd finished watercoloring, I blended some Indigo Ink on an A2 panel of Paradise cardstock using a blending brush. These colors bring to mind the typical image of Earth as seen from space, with blue waters and green land. I adhered the die cuts to the blended card front using foam adhesive for lots of dimension.

Next, I stamped a greeting from the December My Monthly Hero kit again using Intens-ified Black ink on a square of white cardstock, which I also popped up using dimensional foam adhesive. The final touch was a to add a few gems for some sparkle!

Well, that's all for me today! I am loving all of the different elements in this kit. So many fun bits and pieces with this one. Now for some fun giveaway information!

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, December 2, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Love that this can go in a direction that is also not so earthy.

That indigo ink gives a lovely accent to the sky. Now the woman looks like Mother Nature surrounded by her forest creatures. She reminds me of Snow White in the Disney cartoon.
