Hi, crafty friends! Lea Lawson here with you today, creating a card featuring the Open Lace Frame and Landscapes die set, along with a couple of other sets, from the Lisa Horton Summertime collection. I’m sharing my step-by-step process in easy-to-follow photos and instructions! [gallery type="rectangular" columns="2" link="file" size="medium" ids="lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-1.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-2.webp"] To start, we are going to cut the scalloped frame die from Pearl Metallic cardstock from the Treasured Cardstock: Antique Assorted Pack using a Platinum 6 die cutting machine. For reference, the plate sandwich I will use for all the die-cutting in this tutorial is Platform A, Platform B, Cutting Plate C, cardstock, die (face down), and Cutting Plate C. [gallery type="rectangular" link="file" columns="2" size="medium" ids="lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-3.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-4.webp"] Next, we need to cut the largest rounded rectangle in the die set from the following cardstock colors: Seaside, Bellini, Mint, and Glitter Metallic from the Treasured Cardstock: Antique Assorted Pack. [gallery type="rectangular" size="medium" link="file" ids="lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-5.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-6.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-7.webp"] Cut the cloud edge die from the glittered cardstock, the hill edge die from the Bellini, and the grass edge die from the mint. [gallery type="rectangular" columns="2" link="file" size="medium" ids="lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-8.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-9.webp"] Glue each layer to the Seaside rectangle, aligning to the bottom to create your die-cut background. [gallery type="rectangular" columns="2" link="file" size="medium" ids="lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-11.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-10.webp"] Glue the layered background piece to the pearl metallic scalloped frame that we cut first.

TIP: The stems & leaves dies from the Stargazers die set have letters on them, so you know which leaves go with which stem.

Glue the leaves to the corresponding stem. [gallery type="rectangular" columns="2" link="file" size="medium" ids="lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-16.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-17.webp"] Die cut the lily petals from Blush, the middles from Saffron, and the buds from Blue Spruce. Ink blend the middle of the petal layers using a small blending brush and Garnet colored ink. [gallery type="rectangular" link="file" size="medium" ids="lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-18.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-19.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-20.webp"] Glue together the petals and middles as shown to assemble the two complete lily flowers. [gallery type="rectangular" link="file" size="medium" ids="lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-25.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-24.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-23.webp"] Arrange and glue the lily stems to the scalloped background, adding foam circles to the back of the petals for added dimension. [gallery type="rectangular" link="file" size="medium" ids="lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-26.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-27.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-28.webp"] Die cut the Hugs word layers from the Love and Hugs Sentiments stamp & die set from Vellum, Teal Topaz cardstock, and Glitter Metallic from the Treasured Cardstock: Gold Assorted Pack, then glue together. [gallery type="rectangular" link="file" size="medium" ids="lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-29.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-30.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-31.webp"] Stamp the 1-piece stamp set from the Love and Hugs Sentiments stamp & die set in black to white cardstock, then die cut with the coordinating 1-piece die set. Select the “sending” sentiment for your card. Cut and fold an A2 card base (4.25” x 5.5”) from white cardstock, then cover with an A2-sized panel of Tutu cardstock. Glue the scalloped background directly to the middle of the card base. Add thin foam strips to the back of both sentiment elements, then adhere to the card front as shown. [gallery type="rectangular" link="file" columns="2" size="medium" ids="lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-36.webp,lealawson-spb-lisahorton-summertime-s5-748-step-37.webp"] To finish, accent with (5) Aura AB self-adhesive crystals in different sizes, including a trio in the bottom left and a duo in the upper middle areas of the card. Hello there, Michelle Short here to share a step-by-step tutorial with you using the Containers and Foliage Etched Dies from the Lisa Horton Summertime collection. There are lots of sets in this collection that work well together, but for today, I simply combined two to make a simple for you card that is perfect for beginners. The Decorative Lattice Etched Dies are working as a base for the vase to stand on. I thought it looked a little like a tablecloth!

DIE CUTTING + ASSEMBLING THE VASE + FOLIAGE

Die cut the dies from Containers and Foliage Etched Dies: PLEASE NOTE: The dies are shown in the photo facing upwards, so that you can see which die is cut from which cardstock. When die cutting, you need to have the cut side facing down onto the cardstock.

1. Place base layer of foliage die onto Peridot ColorWheel Cardstock and hold in place with Best Ever Craft Tape.
2. Place top layer of foliage die onto Rainforest ColorWheel Cardstock and hold in place with Best Ever Craft Tape.
3. Place base layer of vase die onto Beeswax ColorWheel Cardstock and hold in place with Best Ever Craft Tape.
4. Place top layer of vase die onto Saffron ColorWheel Cardstock and hold in place with Best Ever Craft Tape.

5. Run through Platinum Six Die Cutting Machine using the following sandwich (bottom to top):

• A Platform Base
• B Platform Top
• C Cutting Plate
• Cardstock with die on top
• C Cutting Plate

6. Apply small dots of Bearly Art Glue onto the back of the top layer of foliage.

7. Adhere on top of base layer of foliage.

8. Apply glue onto the back of the top layer of vase.
9. Adhere to base layer of vase.

10. Apply glue to the bottom of foliage stem.
11. Adhere vase on top.
12. Flip over and add small piece of Best Ever Craft Tape on top where the stem meets the vase.

TIP: Adding Best Ever Craft Tape to the back of die cuts helps to not only adhere the two die cuts together (since there is not much surface area), but it also gives the die cuts some stability, especially if adhering to the card base with foam squares.

CREATE THE TABLECLOTH BASE

Die cut Decorative Lattice Etched Dies:

1. Place base layer of Decorative Lattice die onto Waterfall ColorWheel Cardstock and hold in place with Best Ever Craft Tape.
2. Run through die cutting machine using the same sandwich as you used for the vase and foliage.
3. Place base layer of Decorative Lattice die onto Seaside ColorWheel Cardstock and place top layer/insert piece inside. Hold both in place with Best Ever Craft Tape.
4. Run through die cutting machine using the same sandwich as above.

13. Pop negative die cut pieces out of top layer of Decorative Lattice using Precision Tool.

14. Apply Bearly Art Glue onto the back.

15. Adhere to base layer.

STAMP THE SENTIMENT

1. Place piece of Classic White ColorWheel Cardstock into Mini MISTI and hold in place with magnet.
2. Place Love and Hugs Sentiments Clear Stamp Set onto cardstock, impression side down.
3. Close door of Mini MISTI to pick up stamp.

4. Ink up stamp using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink.

5. Close Mini MISTI door to transfer the ink onto the cardstock.
6. Remove cardstock from MISTI and either set cardstock aside to dry for a few minutes or heat set sentiment.

TIP: The sentiment needs to be dry before die cutting out, otherwise the ink may smear. Pigment ink takes a little while longer to dry than dye ink, so it may take a few minutes.

7. Place Love and Hugs Sentiments Die on top and line up openings of die with the sentiments.
8. Hold in place with Best Ever Craft Tape.
9. Run through Platinum Six Die Cutting Machine using the same process in you used to cut the foliage and vase.
10. Pop out the sentiments from the die.

11. Cut down the ‘just for you’ sentiment strip on both ends using Guillotine Paper Trimmer.

NOTE: This step is optional depending on design preference.

ASSEMBLE THE CARD

1. Apply tape runner adhesive to the back of tablecloth/Decorative Lattice piece.
2. Adhere to white A2-sized (4.25” x 5.5”) card base.

3. Flip card over and cut off excess overhanging the card using Pro Shears.

TIP: Depending on if you are right-handed or left-handed, this is easier to do by cutting from the back. You can use the edge of the card base as a guide of where to cut.

4. Apply foam squares to the back of the vase and foliage (you may need to cut some down in size to fit using scissors).
5. Remove backings off foam squares.

TIP: Tweezers are really helpful when removing the backings off foam squares!

6. Adhere to card.

7. Apply foam squares onto the back of sentiment strip. Do not apply them all the way to the left side of the sentiment; leave a gap at the end.
8. Remove backings off foam squares.
9. Adhere to card, overlapping with the side of the vase.

10. To finish, embellish with Silver Mix Color Essentials Gems.

I kept my card very simple today, but you could add more detail and dimension by applying some ink blending to the foliage. I quite like the simplicity of it as is though! Hello, crafty friends! Marie here again from Marie Nicole Designs. I am showing off the Stargazer dies in this pretty card as a tutorial for you to follow. I love these beautiful, simple flowers, and I wanted to add a bouquet of them to the front of my card. Follow along as I walk you through the process!

STEP 1

Find the stems from the set, as well as the petal layering pieces, and cut them all out of green cardstock. You will notice that the petal layering pieces are labeled with an alphabet that coordinates with the stem they layer on. This is so handy! Just keep each stem and petal piece together, and you will have no problems matching up all the pieces. Once you have all the pieces cut and matched up, go ahead and glue on the layering pieces to add dimension. I used the same color green for the stem and petal pieces, but you could add a darker color for shadow and dimension.

STEP 2

Cut out the Stargazer flowers. These come in layering pieces as well. There is a larger-sized flower and a smaller size, and then two unopened flowers. If you lay them out and match the sizes, it is easy to see what pieces go together. Here are all the pieces cut out and matched up. I used white cardstock so I could color the flowers myself.

STEP 3

To add the color, I used a trio of pink alcohol markers. I used the darkest color in the back, the midtone in the middle, and the lightest color in front.

STEP 4

Assemble your flower after you have colored each petal layer. I used just a drop of liquid glue on each layer. Once your flowers are layered together, add it to a stem with another drop of glue.

STEP 5

Don’t forget to assemble those unopened flowers! I colored mine a light green and then glued them to a stem, as well.

STEP 6

To create a background, I used a piece of navy blue cardstock and cut it into three pieces using the Open Lace Frame and Landscape dies. I used the curve and the hilly dies to create three wavy layers.

STEP 7

Using the layers and some foam adhesive, layer all the pieces together, one behind the other on top of another navy blue piece of cardstock.

STEP 8

Now it is time to arrange the bouquet of Stargazers on the front of our wavy background. Play around with your arrangement until you find something you like. I kept all my flowers to one side, and I even varied the height by slipping some stems behind the different background layers.

STEP 9

Once you are happy with your arrangement, glue down your flowers using liquid glue. I also used some rhinestones for the middle of the flowers instead of the piece that came with the die set. I like sparkle!

STEP 10

Speaking of sparkle, add some more! I used some clear sequins in a variety of sizes and sprinkled them around my bouquet of Stargazers. To finish this card, I added the sentiment from the So Amazing Sentiments die and stamp set, mixing the die-cut word “So” with the stamped “amazing”. And that’s it! A beautiful Stargazers card is finished.
