Step by Step Tutorial: Create a Thank You Card with a 3D Embossing Folder Background
Hello! Jen Kotas here today with a step by step photo tutorial creating a card with the Lined Corners 3D Embossing Folder. card. I walk you through embossing with a 3d embossing folder and using the BetterPress System to create two tone botanical images.
Mist Malibu ColorWheel Cardstock with water before embossing to prevent panel from cracking.
Lay panel on Lined Corners 3D Embossing Folder so the intersection of the space between embossed area sits either in bottom left or top right portion of card.
When using the Universal Plate System with a Spellbinders 3D embossing folder, use only the A and D plates. Cut embossed panel to 4 x 5 ¼”.
Add liquid glue, making sure to hit the raised areas then adhere to a 4 ¼ x 5 ½” panel of Oceanside ColorWheel Cardstock.
Place frond from Growing Better BetterPress Plates and Die Set on magnetic platform (the Chase). Tape a Porcelain A2 BetterPress Cotton Card Panel to the clear plate (the Platen).
Add ink to press plate with Spruce and Teal Topaz BetterPress Ink for one frond and Pine and Laurel BetterPress for the second. The darker color was added down the center with the lighter added to the tips.
Die cut frond with coordinating die using the Platinum Scout Die Cutting Machine. I prefer to grab this machine when I’m doing only a small amount of die cutting and the die fits through machine.
Apply liquid glue to top frond then lay over bottom one.
Adhere frond cluster to the bottom left in the space between the lines. Add glue to stem area only to give a bit of dimension to the fronds.
Add sentiments from Holding Your Heart Sentiments BetterPress Plates and Die Set with adhesive foam strips. I pulled pre-made sentiments I store in the press plate package.
Use a t-square ruler to line up sentiment straight on card.
