Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of simple and elegant cards made with the new Vivid Expressions Collection. The gorgeous BetterPress designs, pretty sentiments, and ornate die sets in this collection all work together beautifully to create stunning cards with ease. Here I chose a pretty purple palette to work with the collection and create three cards for different occasions.
Apply Gold Hot Foil to both edges of a 4” x 5.5” piece of white cardstock using one of the border plates from the Pressed Lace Borders Press Plate & Die Set and cut the edges using the coordinating die. Adhere a piece of Lilac Blossom Cardstock to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner and then pop the white foiled panel up in the center of the card front with foam adhesive.

Die cut Mirror Gold Cardstock using one of the sentiments from the Vivid Script Sentiments Die Set and adhere it to the card front on an angle with liquid glue. Die cut Purple Mist, Lilac Blossom, and Rainforest Cardstock using the Vivid Blooms Die Set, assemble the flower clusters, and pop them up surrounding the sentiment with foam adhesive. Add a sentiment from the Ideal Moments Press Plate & Die Set foiled in gold to complete the card.
Press the “hello” greeting from the Sweeping Script Sentiments Press Plate Set onto Purple Mist Cardstock using Mulberry BetterPress Ink and a BetterPress Letterpress System. Die cut Royal Amethyst and white cardstock using the Berry Fields Border Die Set and assemble the border. Using the resulting border die-cut to line up the rim die from the set, cut beneath the sentiment on the purple panel on an angle and then adhere the border to the panel with liquid glue
Trim a piece of Lilac Blossom Cardstock to 4.25” x 5.5”, emboss it with the Tiny Dots Embossing Folder, and adhere it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. Pop the sentiment panel up on top of the card front with foam adhesive and add a few flowers and leaves from the Vivid Blooms Die Set to the upper left corner. Embellish with Gold Mix Gems.
Emboss and cut an entire half-sheet of white cardstock using the Blooming Butterflies 3D Emboss & Cut Folder. Take the floral corner piece and a medium butterfly and lightly apply gold gilding wax with your finger to bring out the embossed details. Apply Gold Hot Foil to white cardstock using the Ideal Moments Press Plate & Die Set and cut out all of the sentiments using the coordinating die.
Trim a piece of Purple Mist Cardstock to 4.25” x 5.5” and blend Villainous Potion and Dusty Concord Distress Oxide Inks up from the bottom of the panel to create an ombre background. Adhere the panel to a top-folding A2-sized white card base and pop the embossed pieces and sentiment up on top with foam adhesive. Add Gold Mix Gems to embellish.
Gilded Anniversary Card
I loved the gorgeous border patterns from the Pressed Lace Borders Press Plate & Die Set and thought they would look beautiful foiled and flanking the center panel of an anniversary card.

Floral Hello Card
The oversized and elegant greetings in the Sweeping Script Sentiments Press Plate Set deserve to take center stage! Here I add just a few floral accents to create a simple and pretty hello card.

Lastly, I thought the flowers and butterflies from the Blooming Butterflies 3D Emboss & Cut Folder were so beautifully detailed, I decided to add just a pretty ombre background and sentiment for this easy sympathy card.
