Royal Flourish Inspiration | Foiled Cards with LauraJane
Jun 12, 2019
Hello Papercraft Lovers! LauraJane here, also known as @mammacooksalot on IG. Thank you for joining me today here on the Spellbinders Blog! I am so excited to have been invited to play with the Royal Flourish Glimmer Plate collection by Becca Feeken! It‘s such a feminine collection of plates that can add a kiss of foil glimmer, shimmer, and shine to any crafty project!
For my first two cards, I simply use the glimmer plates on patterned paper from the June card kit of the month. Golden foils look so pretty with the colors in that kit! Then I embellished each with the die-cuts and sentiment stickers. The Foiling really make a card look festive!
The first one with a butterfly features the Contessa’s Seal Panel and GLF-024 Polished Brass Foil.
The next one with the super-cute balloon dog I used the Crowned Rimmed Squares and GLF-024 Polished Brass Foil
After learning that the foiling is resistant to waterbased inks from Yana, I wanted to try a bit of watercoloring for my third card. I really liked how a Glimmer Plate can be a starting point, or backbone, for any watercolor project and will definitely be creating more projects like this in the future.
Imperial Adorned Ovals looks lovely with Silver foil on watercolor paper. Then I stamped a few blooms from the clear stamp set, Thanks a Bunch over a few of the foiled flourishes. Since the Glimmer Foiling is ink-resistant, I was able to brush on light yellow, and added some splatters with water-based inks. Then added some more color details to the blooms with Zig markers. I just love how that Foil shines through the watercoloring! I then added the 3 word dies S3-311, cut from white cardstock for a sentiment that pops! I finished off with the strip of paper and washi tape stitched together for interest, and adhered it to a piece of yellow card stock from the card kit.
