Die-Cut Holiday Treat Bags & Package Toppers

Hello stampers! Today we are shifting gears from cardmaking to DIY projects, as Debi Adams is here to share some cheerful ideas for holiday gift-giving.

Hi everyone! Today I have a fun little treat bag for you to make using the Holiday Greenery Edge Fancy Die. It’s simple to create and goes together quickly. The border finishes off the bag perfectly and the die is so versatile that it can be translated to fit all the other seasons just by changing a few colors!

Instructions:

• Cut a piece of cardstock 3 1/2” wide by 10” long.
• Score the piece at 1" for a flap on one end and then at 4” and 5” from the other end.
• Fold over 1” edge and secure the other two creases.
• Die-cut center of box using Tag Frame Infinity Die on the side without the flap.
• Fill 3” cellophane treat bag with candy and insert into box, making sure to line it up with window opening. Secure in place with adhesive.
• Cut a small strip of patterned paper to go across top flap of bag and adhere in place.
• Wrap a small piece of ribbon around strip and secure in place.
• Die-cut Holiday Greenery Edge Fancy Die from cardstock and embellish with markers.
• Attach edge to underneath side of top flap.
• Adhere flap closed with adhesive.
• Stamp and emboss sentiment with Unicorn White pigment ink and white powder onto red cardstock.
• Adhere sentiment to box.

What a nice little goodie to give away or to put at the holiday table. How fun would it be to make these with friends? Ah, turn on the Christmas music and sit down to a cup of hot chocolate!

Next, I'm happy to be showcasing an idea for the Snowflake Edge Fancy Die. This one is kind of whimsical and will add a touch of winter to your cards or gifts no matter where you live. And you know, sometimes it’s just the little details that make even a small package look significant.

To create the rosette you will need to die-cut two Snowflake Edge borders from white cardstock. Placing the straight edge of the border onto a scoring platform, use a score tool to make marks every 1/4”. Attach one end of each Snowflake border to the other so that it becomes one long strip.

Crease the score marks to make hills and valleys. Attach the ends to each other using hot glue so that it is now one long loop. (If the hills and valleys should not match up, simply snip one scored section off so that they align).

Using a small paper circle for a guide, apply hot glue to the center of the circle, align circular snowflake border over the top and begin pushing down, pinching the center in tighter as you go so that all ends come close to touching each other at the bottom. (I like to use a non-stick mat for this portion of the project).

Stamp snowflake image using Red Royal Ink onto another paper-punched/die cut circle. Shade the edges with Sea Glass Ink. Embellish with striped twine bow. Attach stamped circle to center of rosette.

How cute and simple is that? I can see it used for garlands, ornaments and decor on cakes too! What is your take?
