Video: Using vellum to make your sentiment stand out

Today, I'm happy to be back with a video using vellum to help the sentiment stand out!

Two greeting cards

I created both cards using stamps and dies from the July 2025 Hero Studio Card Kit of the Month, and the July Stamp & Cut of the Month.

Friend card with purple landscape and sunset behind vellum

For this card, I used shades of purple for the landscape, and orange, pink and purple ink blending for the sunset. After stamping and die cutting the main sentiment, I cut the panel down to be smaller than my card front, and wrapped the panel in vellum.

Using vellum to mute the background

By wrapping the main panel in vellum, and adhering the sentiment on top, the background appears muted. The sentiment on top remains bright and crisp.

For my second card, I stamped the sky in bright blue and the landscape in green to give a different feel to the card.

Big Hugs card with green landscape and blue sky behind vellum

Instead of wrapping the stamped panel in vellum, I adhered a sheet to the card by hiding the adhesive behind the sentiment, which is popped up on foam adhesive. The vellum really allows the sentiment to take center stage!
