Video: Ink Blended Holiday Shaker

Video: Ink Blended Holiday Shaker

Good morning! Jessica Frost-Ballas here with a clean and simple holiday shaker card featuring the gorgeous Poinsettia and Ornament Fancy Die!

I've created a video tutorial for this card that you can watch below or over on our YouTube channel.

I wanted to let the intricacy of the die shine so I kept the rest of the card fairly simple! To start I die-cut the Poinsettia and Ornament Fancy Die from a panel of Dove White Hero Hues cardstock. Next I traced the outline of the ornament die onto a panel of Cherry Hero Hues cardstock as a guide and then blended Crimson and Mulled Wine Hybrid Inks onto the panel. I concentrated the darker color towards the edge and the lighter colors towards the center.

Then I applied adhesive to the back of the white shaker panel and adhered a piece of acetate over the opening. I built up a double layer of foam mounting tape and then filled the shaker liberally with Snow & Berry and Ombre Blush sequins. There actually are no green sequins in those mixes, my lighting just makes them seem a little green in the photo! I sealed my shaker with the blended panel and then adhered it to a top-folding Dove White Hero Hues card base.

Next I used Liquid Precision Glue to adhere the intricate die over the acetate. Then I stamped a sentiment from From the Vault: Home Scene onto Pitch Black Hero Hues cardstock with Embossing and Watermark Ink and heat-embossed it with White Embossing Powder. I trimmed it down to a thin label and adhered it to the card with foam mounting tape. To finish the card I added a few more sequins!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have an amazing day!

Beautiful! I always have trouble lining up the card base to the panel when I do shaker cards, now I just add a second layer of acetate to trap everything so I can flip it over and line it up easier. Yours is perfect!
