Soft & Serene Dandelion

Soft & Serene Dandelion

Hello there, Michelle here and today I have a card to share using the new Dandelion & Leaves Fancy Die which was released as an add-on for the December 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit. This is such a pretty die and I think it can be used for lots of different occasions. Today I went with a birthday card.

I started off by creating my background. I wanted to keep it very soft and serene so I first added a layer of clean water to the watercolour paper and then added drops of liquid watercolors. I used Purple, Deep Ocean and Teal. I diluted the colours quite a bit and let them blend into each other. I then spritzed on some White Iridescent Shimmer Spray for a little sparkle. I set the piece aside to dry while I worked on the other elements.

I took the dandelion Fancy Die and cut this twice from white cardstock. I layered them together to create a more dimensional piece. I stamped the sentiment from the Birthday Messages set onto white cardstock with Intense Black Ink. I cut the sentiments in to thin strips. To assemble the card, I took a piece of Decorative Woodgrain Cardstock and added this to the front of an A2 white card base. I then cut the background piece down using a Rounded Rectangle Infinity Die.

I adhered the background piece flat to the card base with tape runner and then added the dandelion on top with liquid glue. I added the sentiment strips with foam tape and then added a few Moonshine Confetti from the December kit to finish.

I think this design would work well for a thinking of you card as well. Thank you for stopping by today. Happy stamping!
