November My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway!

November My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway!

Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the November My Monthly Hero kit! Release day is Monday, November 6th at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We'll be here all weekend, sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as new optional add-on products that will also be available on Monday. And, remember to comment on each and every post as we'll be giving away a kit on Monday morning, before the kit launches! Now join Jess as she shares a project using some of the add-on items...

Hi, Jess here! I love the November kit but I was really drawn to one of the add-on items and decided to focus on it today! As someone who celebrates Jewish holidays, I always struggle to find a good Hanukkah set amidst all the fabulous Christmas sets so I was ridiculously excited to see some of the add-on items this month! ;)

This add-on set has beautiful images for the festival of lights or for general winter holiday cards! I'll be sharing another card during the hop using the same set but without a Hanukkah theme to show its versatility! To start I stamped the menorah with Versamark and heat-embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder. Then I die-cut it with the coordinating die before coloring the flames with Copic markers. Next I added a thick layer of Spectrum Noir clear sparkle to the menorah and then added a layer of Nuvo crystal glaze. I set that aside to dry while I worked on the background.

I wanted to keep my card fairly clean and simple but decided to add a little interest to the card base with the help of one of the add-on stencils. I placed the stencil over a piece of white cardstock and ran it through my Big Shot using the embossing pad instead of a cutting pad. This resulted in a dry embossed pattern across the entire panel. Next I stamped the sentiment with Versamark on dark navy blue cardstock and heat-embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder. I also added a layer of Spectrum Noir clear sparkle over the entire sentiment. I adhered the menorah and the sentiment to the embossed card base with foam mounting tape and finished the card with a sprinkling of Frost sequins!

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We'll randomly draw one lucky winner from all of the comments left across all countdown posts and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, November 6th, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Thanks so much for visiting! Be sure to come back later today for another look at this month's kit and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Very pretty Jess, and I agree, it’s not that easy finding nice Hanukkah stamps. Yeah Hero!
