February My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #3 + Giveaway

February My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #3 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome back to the countdown to the release of the February My Monthly Hero kit! Release day is Monday, February 5th at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We'll be here for another couple days, sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as new optional add-on products that will also be available on Monday. And, remember to comment on each and every post as we'll be giving away a kit on Monday morning, before the kit launches! Now join Janette as she shares another glimpse at this beautiful kit...

It has been beautiful spring weather here in Central California. Temps in the low 70's, glorious sunshine and chirping fills the air. I didn't have to look far for inspiration for this month's kit! I am featuring the main kit stamp set as well as the charming Bird Branches Fancy die w/Frame add-on.

The birds in this month's kit are sketchy. Sketchy in a good way, the artsy way. The edges are not designed to be perfect, but are easily cleaned up for those who prefer a precise look. I love a versatile stamp set!

I colored my little tweeter while mounted on the lid of the Misti with Arteza watercolor brush markers. Add a few strokes of color and then stamp onto Bristol paper. Add more of the same or a new color, and repeat stamp until your birdie takes shape. Wet the image with a water brush to allow the colors to drift into one another while leaving the sketchy look in tact.

Then scribble. Truly, just scribble onto an A2 Bristol panel with a watercolor brush marker and then randomly water brush it with clear water. Guys, it doesn't have to be complicated to be beautiful. Don't overthink it!

While the bird and panel dry, apply three layers of White Satin Pearl embossing powder to Bird Branches Fancy die add-on. Trim watercolor panel and bird, stamp sentiment in black and assemble all of the layers together on a dark chocolate woodgrain mat (included in kit). Adhere to white folded card base, stamp interior sentiment if you wish, add Ombre Ocean sequins and pair with coordinating envelope.

Don't forget to win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, February 5th, before the kit launches at 1 pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Thank you for joining us at Hero Arts today. There are still a few more reveal posts before the launch. Enjoy!
