February My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway

February My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway

It's already time for our fifth countdown peek! The February My Monthly Hero kit will be available on Monday, February 3 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Be sure to mark your calendar or set an alarm -- last month we had a quick sellout and due to the limited edition nature of the program, kits are not restocked once sold out. Now let's join Jess for another fantastic sneak peek!

Hello! Jess here with a rainbow-bright ink blended birthday card featuring the gorgeous February My Monthly Hero kit!

The kit contains this big A2 sized stamp with lots of pretty flowers and cute birthday images and I decided to let some ink-blending show it off! I started by stamping the image onto Hero Hues Dove White Cardstock with Versafine and heat-embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. Then I blended Reactive Inks around the panel in rainbow order. I used Taffy, Fruit Punch, Lemon Drop, Key Lime Fizz, Pool Party, Splash, and Thistle Reactive Inks. I set that aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.

Next I stamped some of the florals from the same stamp a few more times onto Hero Hues Dove White cardstock with Intens-ified Black ink. I colored them with Copic markers and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies. Then I die-cut two rectangles using the Nesting Rectangle Infinity Dies, one from Hero Hues Dove White cardstock and a slightly larger one from Hero Hues Pitch Black cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from the kit onto the white cardstock with Intens-ified Black Ink and then arranged my flowers around it. I adhered the flowers with a mix of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape for a little dimension.

Finally I trimmed down my rainbow panel and adhered it to an A2 panel of Hero Hues Pitch Black Cardstock. I added my smaller rectangles and then finished the card by adding a few yellow centers to the flowers using a colored lacquer included in the kit. There are so many great ways to create birthday cards (and cards for other occasions!) with this kit and I can't wait to show you more soon!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have an amazing day!

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, February 3, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Good luck!
