Awesome Add-ons: May Edition

Hello and happy Friday, stampers! It’s time for another Awesome Add-ons feature. Before we dive into the projects, here’s a peek at all of the add-on products introduced this month — lots of creative options, whether you pair them with the kit or use them separately.

Today our Creative Team is going to share some fabulous “beyond the kit” ideas for some of the add-ons. Let’s follow Jayne to the beach for some beautiful inspiration!

Jayne: I really love the collection of Fancy Dies from Hero Arts so I was thrilled when I saw the Shell Confetti Fancy Die for the first time! Not only can this full card-sized die be used to create tiny, shell confetti for shaker cards, but it also makes a fun, sea-themed background for beach images.

To create this pair of cards, I used the Shell Confetti Fancy Die to cut background panels from both light blue and tide cardstock. After removing all of the shells from the backgrounds, I secured them to white card bases.

I also used this die to cut the same tiny shells from azure cardstock and then randomly inlaid a few shells into each background. I wrapped the cards with nautical inspired, neutral cording. Then, I added beautiful, embossed sentiments from the new Mer-mazing Messages stamp set that I layered over pieces of vellum and embellished with starfish confetti pieces. I finished each card with a cute fish image from the sentiment set, stamped with Deep Ocean ink and cut with a small circle die. Quick, easy, and very beachy!

When I finished those cards, I had a tray of unused shell confetti so I decided to make a quick shaker card. I simply embossed a sentiment and a few bubbles from the Mer-Mazing Messages set onto the center of a cerulean card base. Then, using assorted inks and circle masks that I cut with four of the circle infinity dies, I randomly inked circles across a piece of white cardstock. Next, I used two rectangle infinity dies to cut a frame from the inked panel. I lined the frame with acetate, added a few ombre green sequins, tossed some shell confetti over the sentiment, and then secured the frame to the card with foam tape. I also stamped a few additional bubbles and added several more sequins to the outer panel.

Next, Amy has created a fun and fin-tastic birthday card that’s suitable for most anyone!

Amy: I’m a long time fan of all things nautical and love this month’s newest add-ons. Here’s how I was inspired:

I used the Manatee Stamp & Cut set. I did some quick watercoloring in a palette that would make those cute fish POP. They are on foam dimensionals for added fun.

I love a great pun, don’t you? This is a great addition to my birthday card stash, a fun gender neutral design.

I added a couple of the Ombré Ocean Sequins, they look pretty fantastic against the black.

We hope you enjoyed today’s projects. Thanks so much for stopping by for a peek!
