Today we're delighted to have Creative Team member Jayne Nelson here to share some fabulous "beyond the kit" ideas for a few of the add-ons.

Whether you love cats or dogs, the new Playful Pets Bundle —filled with charming dog stamps, sentiments and coordinating dies—is simply too adorable to resist. Your dog-loving family and friends will adore cards created with this delightful set. Today, I’m sharing two cards featuring these cute pups.

For my first card, I stamped the new Meadow Floor Bold Prints background onto a trimmed panel of Kiwi cardstock with Field Greens ink and then secured the panel to a Kiwi card base with foam tape. Next, I created a simple frame from Meadow cardstock using a Nesting Rectangle Infinity Die and a Square Infinity Die ; however, an easier way to create a Polaroid-style frame would be to use one of the Journaling Photo Frame Infinity Dies . I secured the frame to the card with foam tape and then added a sentiment strip, stamped with Intens-ified Black ink on Dove White cardstock, along the frame's lower edge.

To create a fun focal point, I stamped and die cut one dog and several dog toys and bones with the Playful Pets Bundle. Before securing each image to the card with Precision Glue and foam tape, I colored them with colored pencils. To make the dog appear that he’s holding a bone, I cut a small slit into one edge of a bone and then slid the bone up under the dog’s chin into the slit. For a final element, I added a trio of Sunset Enamel Dots onto the card.

My second card couldn’t be simpler—a pair of sweet pups leaping against a bright, inked sky. I started my card by masking off the lower portion of a trimmed, white panel and then, using a Blending Brush , inked the upper part of the panel with Splash ink. I also stamped a punny sentiment from the Playful Pets Bundle and some grass from the new Picnic Basket set onto the panel with black ink. I secured the inked panel to a Cup O’ Joe card base with foam tape.

Next, I stamped, colored, and die cut two dogs, a tennis ball, and a flying disc. I positioned the dogs and the disc to appear as if the dogs are playing catch and then secured them to the card with foam tape. Last, I finished the card with several Blue Enamel Dots .
