April My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway

April My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway

It's time for our fourth countdown peek! The April My Monthly Hero kit will be available on Monday, April 6 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Now let's join Michelle for another look at this wonderful kit!

As soon as I saw this kit, I thought sunset! I love creating sunsets with ink blending and I always think silhouetted images work so well with them. The stamp set in the kit is perfect for this type of technique!

G'Day Mate by Michelle Short for Hero Arts

I started off my card by taking a 4" x 5.25" panel of Hero Hues Dove White Premium Cardstock and masking off the bottom portion. I then die cut a piece of mask paper using one of the smaller dies in the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies set. This was placed where I wanted my sun to be and then using an ink blending brush, I blended ink on to the panel.

I started off by blending Lemon Drop Reactive Ink closest to the sun, followed by Creamsicle Reactive Ink and then Fruit Punch Reactive Ink towards to the top and sides. I felt that I wanted the red to be darker so I added on a layer of Hero Hues Ruby Pigment Ink to the very edges. I then removed the sun mask and blended over more Lemon Drop Reactive Ink.

I left the inks to dry for a little while whilst arranging my stamps in the Mini MISTI. I used one of the trees from the set, two kangaroos and one of the sentiments. Once arranged where I wanted them to be, I stamped them on to the panel using Intens-ified Black Ink. I did stamp them a few times, to get a nice dark impression. The panel was then simply adhered to a Dove White Top Folded Card using foam tape.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, April 6, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Good luck!

Stunning card. Goer gouges ink blending. . This looks like the kangaroos that visit our property. We leave food out for them and this morning we had 7 come in. It varies day to day and it is wonderful to watch them, particularly the joeys when they are learning to hop. Love this kit
