Hello there,
Michelle Short here to share some inspiration using the Metamorphosis Collection by Simon Hurley. This is a wonderful collection that is perfect for cards, tags, scrapbook/art journals and so much more! I have two cards to share with you today, as well as a tag.

HELLO
I am using the
In Bloom set for my first card, which is such a pretty layering floral die set. I die-cut the flower petals from
Glacier,
Raindrop, and
Cosmic Sky Cardstock. I then cut the centers from
Chamomile and the leaves and stem from
Peridot Cardstock. All of the layers were ink blended on the edges using Distress Inks and then layered up with
Bearly Art Glue.

I die-cut the frame piece in the
Geo Foliage set three times, stacked them up one on top of another, and adhered them to an A2 white card base. The leaves and stems were adhered on top using
Bearly Art Glue. The flowers were adhered with
foam squares.

I took the ‘hello’ sentiment from the
Everyday Sentiments set and die cut the shadow piece from white cardstock and the word itself from
Cosmic Sky Cardstock. I layered them up and adhered them to the card using more foam tape. To finish off, I added
Silver Mix Color Essentials Gems.
BIRTHDAY ACETATE TAG
For my second project, I thought it would be fun to create an acetate tag. Although there is somewhere to add a personal message on the back, I thought that it would look nice added to a gift. I started off by creating the tag itself. I die cut the
tag from
acetate and then popped it back in the die to partially cut the bottom off, to make the tag shorter.

I then die cut both the shadow and detail layer of the butterfly from the
Brilliant Butterflies set using white cardstock. I blended Distress Inks in Prize Ribbon and Peacock Feathers on to the shadow piece and then adhered the white layer on top with
Bearly Art Glue. I adhered it to the tag with thin foam tape.

I cut another of the shadow pieces and adhered this to the back of the tag to hide the adhesive. I stamped the sentiment from
Lots of Wishing You Sentiments on to
Onyx Cardstock using
Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied
White Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and adhered to the tag with more thin foam tape. To finish off, I tied
Black Cord through the top of the tag and tied in a bow and added
Silver Mix Color Essentials Gems to the butterfly’s body.
BIRTHDAY BUTTERFLIES
My final project for today uses the
Stained Glass Etched Dies to create a shaped card. I cut the panels from white cardstock and adhered the intricate layer on top of the solid one using
Bearly Art Glue. I scored the top of another solid panel to create a hinge and adhered that scored part to the back of the front panel, to create the card base.

I die cut the
Brilliant Butterflies from white cardstock and the shadow from
vellum. I added ink blending to the butterflies (with the same inks I used on the tag butterfly) and then adhered them to the vellum layers and then onto the card.

I die cut the ‘happy’ and ‘birthday’ from
Everyday Sentiments using
Onyx Cardstock. I cut them three times and stacked them one on top of each other for dimension. They were then adhered to the card. To finish off, I added
Silver Mix Color Essentials Gems.
