Folk Art Inspiration | Rosemal Heart Card with Keeway
Apr 04, 2018
Hi crafty friends! This is Keeway Tsao and I’m thrilled to be returning today for another guest post with Spellbinders featuring the Folk Art Collection by Lene Lok.
Folk Art as I familiar with is usually packed with tons of color. For this card, I decided to google “folk art” to get inspired by folk art itself, and this time color my die cuts. Given how beautiful this whole collection is, it was pretty difficult to decide which one to focus on, but I decided to pick out the Rosemal Heart Dies.
I die cut the pattern out of white cardstock and then colored it all with Copic markers. I placed it against black cardstock, only to realize then that there was still too much open space left so I die cut a few extra limbs and colored those up as well that would but cut off the edge.
I adhered all the pieces directly onto black cardstock since it really brings out the colors a lot stronger than it would have if I used a lighter color. Since I intentionally positioned my centerpiece a little to the left, I positioned my sentiment vertically on the right.
I heat embossed the sentiment in black onto white card stock and trimmed it down to a thin strip. Then I adhered it vertically with foam tape.
And there you have it, a fun, bright folk art card!
