A Sweet Christmas Inspiration | Baking Cookies Layout with Anna
Sep 09, 2018
Hello everyone. Welcome in my last post for my Guest Designer post on the Spellbinders blog featuring the “A Sweet Christmas” collection by Sharyn Sowell. You can find previous posts here and here. Today we will bake cookies together. They are sugar and gluten free.
When I saw Gingerbread Boy Garland Tag die I knew what I wanted to do with it. I have many pictures of my girls helping me bake Christmas cookies, so making a layout was an obvious choice.
I started with cutting the cookies out of craft paper. I also cut the frosty parts using white cardstock. I used alcohol markers to color eyes, mouth and buttons and assembled all the pieces together. Inking the edges of the gingerbread men with brown ink made them look more real. Like they were burned in oven.
The rest of the layout didn’t take much of time to make. I decided to use cozy and warm colors, wooden pattern and simple layering techniques. I wanted the gingerbread man and pictures to be a main focus of my page.
If you would like to follow my creative process, I recorded a video for you.
