Video: Detailed Die Cutting with the June My Monthly Hero Kit

Video: Detailed Die Cutting with the June My Monthly Hero Kit

Hello, friends! It’s Channin here with a new card and video featuring the June My Monthly Hero Kit! In today’s video I demonstrate several tips and techniques for adding details to your die cuts!

I fell in love with the gorgeous landscape dies included in the June kit! They are already so detailed but today we’ll step it up even further with Copic coloring and an easy inlaid die cutting technique. Please check out the video below to see the whole process.

(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please try watching it HERE on YouTube.)

To create this card I started with two panels of Dove White cardstock trimmed down to 3 3/4” x 5”. I then stacked the two panels on top of each other and placed the mountain die on top and ran it through my die cutting machine. Because the two panels are stacked on top of each other, the die cuts through the first panel and leaves only an impression on the second. I then trimmed out the mountains on the debossed panel with scissors and set the the two mountain panels aside.

Next, I stacked two A2 panels of Dove White cardstock and then die cut the panels with the lighthouse and tree/cabin landscapes dies. I then trimmed out the debossed images with scissors. Next, I Copic colored the die cuts and adhered the two layers together.

I then ink blended the die cut mountains panel with Aquatic, Moss, Cornflower, and Pine, using a post-it note as a mask to create the ocean. Next, I adhered the two mountain panels together. I then ink blended another 3 3/4” x 5” panel with Lemon Drop, Creamsicle, and Fruit Punch. Next, I stamped a sentiment on the panel in INTENS-ified Black Ink. I then adhered the mountains, tree/cabin, and lighthouse diecuts to the panel. I finished the card by adhering the panel onto an A2 top-folding white card base.

I hope you enjoyed my card! Thank you so much for stopping by!!
