Seashell Stencils and Dies

Hi friends! It’s Rosie and I am back to share a project using a few of my favorite Hero Arts products, Color Layering Stencils and Fancy Dies. Although I am not a fan of the hot weather, I do love the beach and all things summer.

I started this project with Antique Ivory cardstock and the Color Layering Seashells Stencils. These stencils were originally included in the popular June 2023 My Monthly Hero Kit and Hero Arts re-released them after the kit won the annual "favorite kit" poll. If you missed out the first time around, now is your chance to get the 3-piece stencil set!

I ink blended with Butter Bar, Fawn, Caramel and Wet Cement Core Inks using the first stencil. I went back in with the same Core Inks and the second layering stencil; this time I went a little heavier handed and tried to keep the inks in the same area as the first stencil. The third stencil I used Embossing & Watermark Ink and a sponge dauber, then heat embossed with Iridescent Bronze Embossing Powder. After heat embossing, I splattered the panel using Bright Yellow + Copper Two-Tone Metallic Spray, Orange and Black Shimmer Tone-on-Tone Metallic Sprays. I did not spray the panel from the bottle, instead I sprayed a little puddle on my glass work surface and used a paintbrush to add some splatter. Spraying directly from the bottle on the panel would have covered my beautiful stenciled background. I cut this panel down and adhered it to an A2 card base.

Next, I die cut several seashells from the Seashells Fancy Dies and ink blended those die cuts with the same inks I used on the stencils but added Cup O' Joe and Papaya Core Inks for some variation. I also die cut a frame using Wood Frame Infinity Dies from Antique Ivory cardstock. I heat embossed the "sea you soon" sentiment from the Tropical Fishes stamp set and heat embossed with Gold embossing powder on Classic Vellum Layering Paper. I lined it up in the top right corner of the portrait frame. I popped up that frame with some foam adhesive and trimmed off the excess vellum.

I centered the frame on the card panel and then added a few of the seashells piled at the bottom of the frame. The background is shimmery and adds the perfect amount of glitz to this neutral card.

Thanks for stopping by today!
