October My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway!

October My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway!

Hello and welcome as we continue the countdown to the release of the October My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, October 1st at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Stay tuned for more inspiration all weekend long! Now let's join Michelle for another look at this Christmas and Winter inspired kit.

I am not sure why, but I really love making winter cards. I especially love snowflakes and I think they work perfectly for sending some winter cheer to friends.

Winter Wishes by Michelle Short for Hero Arts

For my card I started off with a panel of watercolour paper. I then took the 'winter wishes' sentiment from the main kit stamp set and stamped this on to the panel using Versamark Ink. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. I then took the two snowflake stamps and randomly stamped these over the background towards the top, with Versamark Ink again. This time I heat embossed with White Detail Embossing Powder to get the added detail in the snowflakes.

I then took Distress Inks in Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and Dusty Concord and blended these over the panel with an ink blending tool. I took the iridescent ink that is in the kit and splattered this over the panel with a paintbrush. I did use a quite a lot of this, but you can never have too much shimmer can you? :) I set the piece aside to dry.

I took the deer from the stamp set and stamped this on to white cardstock with Intense Black Ink and coloured with Copic Markers. I then used the coordinating Frame Cuts to cut it out. The panel was added to a 4.5" x 4.5" white card base with foam sheet and double sided tape and then the deer added on top with thin foam tape.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, October 1, before the kit launches at 1 pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Good luck and happy stamping!

I love this. I am so heavy handed with oxides no matter what. I love the 4.5 card. I always love different and smaller cards but never know how to find envelopes. The little deer and snowflakes are just adorable.

Such a sweet image. No deers and snow in Queensland even in winter so I’m jealous of those who see this in real life.
