November My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #3 + Giveaway!

November My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #3 + Giveaway!

Hello and welcome as we continue the countdown to the release of the November My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, November 5th at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Stay tuned for more inspiration all weekend long! Now let's join Michelle for another look at this creative kit!

This kit is wonderful for creating Christmas advents. Advent calendars are very popular here in the UK, where you receive a chocolate behind the window for that day. I thought it would be fun to create handmade advent treats using the kit.

Advent Treat Bags by Michelle Short for Hero Arts

To create the tags for the advent parcels/treat bags, I first took a sheet of watercolour paper. I stamped the images from the main clear stamp set in the kit randomly with Versamark Ink. For the red tag, I used the reindeer image and for the blue tag, I used the three snowflake images. I applied white embossing powder and heat set. I then applied various shades of Hero Arts Liquid Watercolors (Strawberry and Mulled Wine for the red tag and Deep Ocean, Teal and Indigo for the blue), as well as the White Iridescent Shimmer Spray. These were then set aside to dry.

Once dry, they were die cut using the Snowflake Infinity Dies and a hole punched through the top. I then took the numbers from the clear stamp set and stamped these on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink, applied white embossing powder and heat set. These were cut in to circles using the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies and added to the middle of the tags with foam tape. The tags were added to the treat bags with twine from the DIY Ornament Kit, which is an add-on this month.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, November 5th, before the kit launches at 1 pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Good luck and happy stamping!

This is such a cute idea. We all gather on Christmas Eve as a family, so I could make different treats, and as they enter they can pick a number out if a bowl, and that will be the treat bag they receive when they leave. I can’t wait to see more of this months kit. Great job on these.

I love your treat bags. You could also use the advent calendar for location clues for a daily hidden treat location to make it more of an adventure.
