July My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway

July My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway

Hiya friends! We are continuing the countdown to the release of the July My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, July 1 at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. We will be here for one more day sharing inspiration before Monday's launch. Now let's join Janette for another look at this lake day kit!

We are well into summer here in Central California and our lakes are brimming from all the of rainfall and snowpack we've had this last winter. We live just off the main road, about 20 minutes below the local lake, which is quite reminiscent of this scene. In the early morning and early evening we often see fisherman headed up to the lake to take in moments just like I am sharing with today's card.
Almost everything needed to recreate this twilight scene is included in the July My Monthly Hero Kit. Previous kit subscribers likely have any additional items in their creative stashes!

Begin by blending the kit included Dusty Blue ink over a scant kit included Lapis blue A2 cardstock panel from the horizon line up to just peek above the mountains and horizon line down to just below the sentiment area for a subtle evening glow effect. (And that's right, friends - cardstock and inks are included in the kit this month!)

Use the same Dusty Blue cube to ink up only the upper edges of the mountains and stamp on Dove White cardstock. Soften bottom of inked area by dabbing with a paper towel to take away any harsh edges. Emboss snow caps in white and die cut image. Ink up trees with kit included Forest and Lime Green by utilizing a sharp edge of the pad creating vertical lines. Stamp one tree line image on Dove White and the other on kit included Meadow cardstock. Then die cut. Die cut dunes and then emboss with Sand embossing powder.

Adhere layers together and over horizon line on Lapis ink blended panel.

Stamp several cattails and the dock on Dove White cardstock with kit included Forest, Lime Green, Sand Stone and Cocoa inks. Die cut images. Dry fit images on panel for placement and then stamp fish, fisherman and buoy line in Cocoa ink. Use a black fine tip marker to connect fish to rod. Replace die cuts and adhere in place popping a few for dimension. Heat emboss sentiment. Adhere completed panel to folded card base to complete.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, July 1st, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win!
Good luck and we'll see you again soon!
