Hero Arts Blog

For the Love of Stamping

For the Love of Stamping

Hello friends,

You may have heard that Ellison, the parent company of Sizzix, has made claims of patent infringement against a number of companies in our industry, including Hero Arts.

Just so you know, there is absolutely no reason to change any purchasing patterns with Hero Arts, as Hero Arts does not infringe, believes the lawsuit is without merit, and intends to fight this lawsuit and win for the good of Hero Arts and the industry. Whether we like it or not, the legal process is a method to resolve disputes, and we must let that play out.

There is no reason to allow a chill on creativity or a disruption to business to creep into our beloved industry despite the current situation. In fact, let's work to do just the opposite and rally together to make our community even stronger. Hero Arts and the other companies involved remain the same creative, reliable, top selling brands you trust and love.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask us at info@heroarts.com or leave a comment.

Yours in creativity,

I am appalled by the action taken by Ellison. All I can say is that I will dedicate my craft budget to the five companies forced to defend against this litigation and will be hard pressed to buy any Sizzix products. More’s the pity for that and I hope Tim Holtz finds a new partnership because I doubt I am alone in feeling this way. I have been a long time (formerly) loyal customer of this company. The times they are a changin’.

Will this ridiculousness ever stop? Because the crafting business is soaring… companies are driving each other down in order to boost themselves… which may only hurt them. We saw it with Sweet Petunia…. now this. Makes me so angry. Hero Arts… stand firm. You are doing so well and you have those who stand with you. Ellison should be supporting and applauding. THAT would boost what they’re doing.

This tells me that Hero Arts and other companies are a serious threat to Sizzix’s market share. Praying for wisdom and insight for your legal team and executives. Also praying that Sizzix opens its eyes and realizes it is only harming itself by attacking similar creative resources. We creative crafters can and do divorce ourselves from companies that turn greedy. We’re not stupid.

Wow, unbelievable. So sorry and frankly bewildered to hear this. I love your products and for me it changes nothing. I will continue to purchase and use your creative, original products. Why don’t they go after those websites that sell $3 dies that copy other companies’ designs? So sorry you’re going through this.
