August My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway!

August My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway!

We are back for another countdown post, leading up to the release of the August My Monthly Hero kit! Release day is Monday, August 6th at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. We'll be sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as new optional add-on products that will be available on Monday. And don't forget to leave a comment on this and every post as we will be giving away a kit on Monday. Now let's join Michelle who is sharing another look at this fabulous kit...

If you love coffee and tea, you will love this kit! Personally I do not drink either, but I have still enjoyed playing with the fabulous kit and I have a lot of friends who love coffee, so it is a wonderful kit for me to make cards for them with.

Latte Love by Michelle Short for Hero Arts

I started off by creating the background to my card. I took the Floral Doily Bold Prints stamp which is an optional add-on this month and stamped it on to watercolour paper using Versamark Ink. I applied White Detail Embossing Powder and then heat set. I then watercoloured it with the new Cocoa Liquid Watercolor which is also an add-on this month. Once the piece was dry, I die cut it using one of the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies.

I then took a die slightly larger than the die cut piece and used this to emboss the circle on to the card base. The watercoloured piece was then added on top. I took one of the cup images from the main kit and stamped this on to white cardstock with Intense Black Ink. I then lightly coloured the image with Copic Markers.

The cup was added to the card with foam tape. I took one of the sentiments from the main kit stamp set and stamped this on to black cardstock with Versamark Ink. I applied White Embossing Powder and heat set. This was then cut into a strip and added to the card with foam tape also. To finish off, I cut a heart from the Sun Showers dies and coloured it with Copic Markers. I added it to the cup with liquid glue and then covered it with the Crystal Clear Lacquer Pen that comes in the kit.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We'll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all the countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, August 6th, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern time. The more you comment, the more chances to win! Good luck!
